Make plans to attend the Summer Fling in Seattle, July 22-25, 2011; as GARDEN BLOGGERS from around the country meet up to take in the sights, sounds, smells and delicious flavors of our beautiful Emerald City.
Lorene Edwards Forkner, Debra Prinzing, and Marty Wingate are your on the ground hosts for this dynamic sampling of beautiful Pacific Northwest riches. We’ll tour glorious gardens, savor delicious farm-to-table dining, and immerse ourselves in one of the most garden-friendly climates Mother Nature has ever bestowed.
4 days of activities with exciting pre- and post-Fling opportunities are in the works. The Silver Cloud Inn, conveniently located in the University district, just North of downtown is our hotel of record. Go here to learn more and make your reservation.

The blog is beautiful! What’s the Clematis in the header photo? I can’t wait until July.
uh oh… I should have known that would be the first question. Unfortunately, I dunno! Just a shot I snapped on a garden tour – you couldn’t pick a better house color & plant companion match! Love IT!
oh… and thanks for the snaps on the site.
Woot! I am booked and ready!
There’s always fun to be had when MA’s in the house!
I’m really looking forward to this. Can anyone tell me how to add the badge and create a link to here on my blog?
Hi Alison, here’s what to do. Copy the badge image to your website/blog. Post the uploaded image in your sidebar and link it here…our site.
How exciting! Love the blog and can’t wait for the Fling!
Beautiful site and the widget looks great on my blog. Looking forward to my first visit to Seattle.
I have booked my reservations and can’t wait to see you all. I love the badge! gail
It is a beautiful badge for a beautiful city. We are booked and can’t wait!

Love the site and the beautiful badge…I’m downloading it my site now. H.
I’m looking forward to being there and don’t even have to travel since I live just north of Seattle. Thanks for all the work you are putting into organizing it!
I’m in! Looking forward to the gardens and gardeners of Seattle!
This is going to be my first fling as a garden blogger. My husband and I were in Seattle last summer and had a wonderful time.
Wonderful… I’d like to promise that this summer we’ll have an actual… well, SUMMER!
I’ve booked my hotel room! So excited about meeting you all.
Wow… international attention! You won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to meet up.
Great job, guys; I am really looking forward to this!
What a great incentive to visit Seattle again, and now with a garden perspective! I’m looking forward to it.
Very excited to put names to faces! This will be fun.
Sounds like fun, but hotel says rooms for us are all booked up. Can this be true?
We’re checking into this. Response has been, uh… remarkable!!!
That sounds too much fun to pass up. I hope I can participate without getting a Facebook account, though. Just too busy, work does get in the way.
Regardless, I’m so thrilled we’re having a West Coast fling!
r.
dear town… you sound a wise note in your resistance to FB. Fortunately, we’re meeting in the real world – where gardens, delicious food and warm sunny skies exist!!!
since I did my MS at UW Seattle, it is like a second home for me. Have many garden design friends there as well as associates from my time at UW. Hope I will be able to attend this gathering.
Lorene,
Great to see you and your writing. Great job, too. I’m in and very excited!
Hi Bonnie,
How exciting – can’t wait to see you!
Ancient Seattle Gardener, eager to see through the eyes and explorations of this event. Count me in. MGT
Welcome Marie! Keep checking here for upcoming details regarding what we have planned and how to register.
Wow! I hoped to join the fling for the first time and here it is in my own area. Looking forward to it.
Luckily, I have friends that I can stay with in Seattle so that means I’ll be able to come! Hurray!
I’d love to come and meet some new friends! Your blog is beautiful. We’re planning a trip to the San Juan Islands this summer, so I am hoping to wrap the Seattle Fling around our vacation!
Hi Cindy,
Sounds like a heavenly way to spend a week or so during our NW summer. Looking forward to meeting you.

Just booked my flight, so here’s another Brit on her way over
Dan Hinkley is coming to talk to my local gardening club next week – dare I go up to him afterwards and say ‘see you over at yours in July?’
Will be great to meet up with USA blogging buddies at last (and to have a reunion with Gail and Frances!)
What a treat you’re in for with our hometown buddy! Glad to have you on board!
WOOT looks like a growing good time a head for all the garden bloggers : ) Annie
Can’t find any information on registering for just the conference… I have friends in Seattle I would likely stay with overnight and wondered if it’s possible to just register for the daytime conference activities. Thanks!
Hmmmmm…. “conference” might be overstating the concept, but yes you can attend daytime activities, visits and garden tours without staying at the hotel. We are finalizing our transportation logistics and plan to announce our agenda for the 4 days of Seattle Fling by end of week. Actual fees associated with attending the Fling will be announced once our sponsors are lined up and we can see what costs remain. Happy to have you!!
